Secure communication from the location to EnergyGrip

Nextalink sends metering data to EnergyGrip using AES GCM128 encryption.

AES GCM combines encryption with integrity protection. This not only prevents unauthorised parties from reading the communication, but also helps verify that the data has not been altered during transmission.

A temporary network outage should not immediately result in missing metering data.

Nextalink therefore includes a built-in memory buffer. When the mobile or Wi-Fi connection is temporarily unavailable, the gateway stores the metering data locally.

Once the connection to EnergyGrip has been restored, the stored data is sent automatically.
