EnergyGrip is the solution. EnergyFlip makes the data accessible.

Useful energy insight requires more than just an app.

The underlying data must be collected reliably, structured and linked to the correct location, connection and user.

EnergyGrip forms the central foundation for this. The platform brings energy data from different sources together and supports:
  • Data collection and monitoring
  • Management of locations and connections
  • Data quality monitoring
  • Analysis and reporting
  • Billing support
  • User and access management
  • API integrations
  • Anomaly detection

EnergyFlip uses selected data from EnergyGrip and presents it in a clear environment for residents and customers.

This means your organisation and the user work from the same reliable data foundation.

EnergyGrip manages the energy data. EnergyFlip provides the user experience.

Give residents and customers insight without developing your own app

Organisations have access to increasing amounts of energy data, but do not always have an accessible environment in which to share this information with residents or customers.

Developing and maintaining your own energy app requires software development, hosting, security, user management and continuous updates.

With EnergyFlip, you do not need to build this infrastructure yourself.

Aurum provides:
  • The technical foundation
  • The connection with EnergyGrip
  • Hosting and security
  • The app and web portal
  • User and access management
  • Software updates
  • Ongoing development
  • Support with scaling

Your organisation determines which data is visible and retains the relationship with residents and customers.

What can a user see in EnergyFlip?

The available data depends on the meters, data sources and selected configuration.

EnergyFlip can provide insight into:
  • Electricity consumption
  • Gas consumption
  • Heat consumption
  • Water consumption
  • Up-to-date and historical consumption
  • Comparisons between days, weeks, months and years
  • Consumption patterns
  • Base load

Scalable user management

Start with one project or user group and expand to large numbers of residents and customers.

Which data sources can be used?

EnergyFlip works with data that is available within EnergyGrip.

This data can be collected in different ways.

Existing digital integrations

When data is already available through an API, building management system, billing system or another digital platform, it can be connected to EnergyGrip wherever possible.

ODA data through P4

As an ODA-certified service provider, Aurum can make smart meter data available through the Dutch grid operator.

No gateway is required at the location. P4 data is made available with a delay and is therefore particularly suitable for historical insights, consumption comparisons and reporting.

Local reading through P1

When more up-to-date data from a suitable smart meter is required, a local connection through the P1 port can be used.

The data is then sent to EnergyGrip through the appropriate data collection method and made available in EnergyFlip.

Nextalink for local data collection

When meters or installations need to be read locally and no suitable digital integration is available, Nextalink can be used.

Nextalink collects the data and securely sends it to EnergyGrip.

Additional metering setups

Additional metering equipment or a digital integration may be required for specific insights.

For insight into solar generation, direct self-consumption and grid feed-in, additional metering equipment or a suitable API integration can be used.

The appropriate solution depends on the installed equipment, available data sources and required insights.

Energie gateway, Nextalink gateway

Without additional hardware where possible

Not every EnergyFlip solution requires new hardware.

If the required data is already available through ODA, an existing API or another digital system, it can often be processed directly in EnergyGrip.

If local or more up-to-date data collection is required, a P1 integration, Nextalink or another suitable metering setup can be used, depending on the situation.

The required data collection method is determined for each project.

Without a gateway where possible. With local data collection where necessary.

P4 data without hardware at the location

P4 data access makes it possible to retrieve smart meter data without installing a device at the user’s location.

The user gives permission for the data to be shared. Aurum then retrieves the data through the Dutch grid operator and processes it in EnergyGrip.

P4 data is suitable for applications such as:
  • Historical energy consumption
  • Comparisons between periods
  • Insight into consumption patterns
  • Monitoring base load based on available intervals
  • Expected annual consumption
  • Resident and energy-saving projects
  • Scalable white-label solutions

Because the data is not immediately available, P4 is less suitable for applications requiring highly up-to-date values.

A local metering setup may be required for more current insights.

More up-to-date insight through a local connection

When users want to monitor their energy use throughout the day, local data collection can be used.

With a suitable smart meter, data can be made available through the P1 port, for example.

Depending on the metering setup, EnergyFlip can then provide more up-to-date insights than with P4 data.

Local data collection can be relevant for:
  • More up-to-date insight into electricity consumption
  • Faster identification of changes
  • Monitoring base load
  • More direct feedback on behaviour
  • Specific resident or energy-saving projects

The most suitable solution depends on the installed meter, required update frequency and project objectives.

How EnergyGrip and EnergyFlip work together

1. Define the target group and application

We start with a specific target group, such as residents of an apartment complex, customers of a heat company, tenants or guests at a holiday park.

2. Define the required insights

Which information do you want to make available?

This may include electricity consumption, heat, water, historical comparisons, base load or energy savings.

3. Review the available data sources

We assess which meters, connections, installations, APIs and existing systems are already available.

4. Select the appropriate data collection method

We determine whether the data can be made available through ODA, an API, P1, Nextalink or another integration.

5. Configure EnergyGrip technically

We connect the available data sources and centrally configure locations, connections, meters, users and access permissions. This creates one reliable data foundation for the complete solution.

6. Tailor EnergyFlip to the user
